Please Look After Mom by Kyung-Sook Shin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This was a pretty easy book to read. Not very long and flowed pretty well. I enjoyed reading the different points of view from the members of the family as the reflected on their Mom and her life. It naturally makes the reader think of their own mom and reflect on her. The only real complaint I have is that it was hard to follow when the writer would change narrators. It took a few pages, or at least paragraphs, to realize whose voice it was that you were reading. But overall, the story was nice and I enjoyed this read.

*sorry for the really bad photoshop work* I haven’t posted in a while, and one of my new year’s resolutions is to make posting a more regular habit. What are some of your new year’s resolutions?
Well we are a week into 2012 and it’s off to a great start for me. It seems like a great time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the new one. Many exciting things happened in 2011: I turned 30 in March, I fulfilled my dream of living in Spain until May, Mauricio visited me in Spain and proposed there, Baker family cruise to Alaska in June, I moved to Phoenix to live with Mauricio in July, I met my future family and Mauricio’s friends in Ecuador for Thanksgiving in November, Mauricio experienced his first Baker family Christmas in Vancouver in December, and finally, Mauricio was offered a job with Longview Fiber and we will be relocating back to Vancouver, WA next week! Yesterday I attended an event organized by Lululemon called Salutation Nation. All their stores around the world organized an outdoor group yoga session from 9am-10am. So, there were thousands of people practicing yoga at the same time. It was such a great experience! Continue reading →
I’ve been detached from my blog for a few months, and it’s time to get back in touch. I finished up my adventure of living in Spain in June, spent a month at home in the Pacific Northwest, and am now living in Phoenix with my fiance. It’s crazy, because at this time last year, I was getting everything ready to leave for Spain, and had no idea what the year would bring. I’ve been very blessed with all the opportunities I’ve been given and to have found a great person to share my life with. This next adventure is off to a great start and I’m excited for all it has to offer!!
